Extruded Brass, Full Mortise, Two Ball Bearing, Wide Throw Hinges

MERIT wide throw hinges are another example of function, quality and our commitment to manufacturing the most complete line of solid brass extruded hinges in the industry. Each hinge is supplied with two precision machined, anti-friction, ball-bearing assemblies which increases both the vertical and lateral load bearing capability of the hinge. Each ball-bearing assembly has one end formed as a bushing, allowing it to be inserted into the knuckle. This feature seats the bearing correctly for smooth operation when the hinge is installed and helps to keep the bearing from falling out when the hinge pin is removed. These two ball bearing, full mortise hinges feature wider than normal hinge leaves which positions the door out further, when open, than our conventional hinges. Wide throw hinges are normally used when doors are set in a reveal and are open 180°. The knuckle diameter of our wide throw hinges are consistent with the rest of our extruded hinge line. Hinges are supplied with button tips. Optional decorative brass finials are available at an additional charge.
